This Privacy Policy explains how VahanInfo ("we", "us") handles information when you use the http://localhost:3000 website and the VahanInfo Android application.

Information we process

• Vehicle searches: registration numbers you search are sent to our servers to fetch results from authorized data providers. On the website, we do not permanently store full registration numbers; abuse-prevention logs keep only truncated, non-reversible hashes.
• Technical data: IP address (hashed for rate limiting), device type, browser type and coarse usage events.
• Analytics: anonymized usage events such as page views and button clicks. Analytics never receive registration numbers, licence numbers, names or other personal identifiers.

What we do not do

• We do not sell personal data.
• We do not require signup for core features.
• We do not display sensitive personal fields (such as a licence holder's date of birth or address) on the public website.

Data sources

Vehicle information is retrieved from data providers we are authorized to use. We do not guarantee accuracy or completeness of provider data; records are shown for general reference.

Cookies and similar technologies

We use strictly necessary cookies for security (such as bot protection) and, where enabled, analytics cookies with IP anonymization. You can control cookies in your browser settings.

Data retention

Abuse-prevention logs are retained for a limited period and then deleted. Aggregated statistics contain no personal identifiers.

Your rights

Subject to applicable law (including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023), you may request access to or deletion of your personal data by writing to support@vahaninfo.app.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be highlighted on this page with a new "last updated" date.
